GLOBALVISION's, Danny "The News Dissector" Schechter, wrote the first investigative, economic meltdown book: 'PLUNDER' [published by Cosimo Books] It is a page turning "who dunnit" detailing the "how" and "why" of the current financial collapse the "sub crime" scandal and antics of the "banksters," which have led to our current economic quagmire. Danny is in production in a film on the financial crisis inspired by the book. |

Rory O'Connor, President/CEO, is overseeing two new documentaries. The first, entitled,'Harvest,' is now in development for HBO. Harvest tells the story of three of the more than 500,000 children of these migrant farm workers between the ages of 5 and 14. Although most of them are American citizens who work hard to feed us, they do so under the legal and social services radar and lack the protections that all other American children enjoy. The film is produced by Shine Global. It is directed by Robin Romano of Romano Productions. |

CONFRONTING THE ECONOMIC CRISIS: GLOBALVISION has long been a leader in coverage of the ongoing economic catastrophe. In January 2009, we worked with Jesse Jackson and Rainbow Push to document his 12th Annual Rainbow PUSH Wall Street Project Economic Summit. This year's summit theme, “Fallout from the Bailout: A New Day in Washington" was chosen to discuss responses to the financial tsunami now hitting America. GLOBALVISION covered the entire event with a three-camera team and interviewed key participants for a future film. Rory O'Connor managed the project. |

GLOBALVISION's earlier film, 'IN DEBT WE TRUST,' (2007) was widely credited with anticipating and warning about the current financial meltdown. Columnist Henry Idema wrote in the Holland Sentinel (Michigan) on January 29, 2009: "The film predicted every aspect of our current debt crisis, foreclosures, mortgage scams, too much credit card debt, a federal government that spends money like a drunken sailor. President Bush in his last press conference on Jan. 12 said, "No one saw this financial crisis coming." That is simply untrue. Schechter did."
